The B&G Hydraulic Ram T0 12V linear hydraulic actuator is a compact, integrated solution for autopilot systems on sailboats. Designed for vessels with a maximum displacement of 9,000 kg, it integrates the cylinder, pump, motor, clutch, and reservoir into a pre-filled, sealed unit, simplifying installation and maintenance.
Performance and Reliability
This hydraulic ram operates at 12 VDC and delivers a maximum intermittent thrust of 350 kg, generating a maximum rudder torque of 545 Nm. Its hard-over time is 12 seconds nominal, ensuring rapid and precise course corrections. Typical current draw is 1.3 A at 25% duty cycle (for 60 kg), with an intermittent current draw of 14.0 A (for 350 kg).
Integration and Protection
With an average hydraulic volume of 234 cc and a stroke of 203 mm, the actuator is suited for mechanical steering systems that may be back-driven. It is IP67 certified for temporary immersion protection, making it resistant to wet marine environments.
