Detailed description
Detailed description
The B&G SAIL PERFORMANCE SENSOR pack (part number 000-15974-001) is a complete kit designed to establish the foundation for a sailing data network on sailboats. It integrates essential sensors for performance and safety, providing accurate data on wind, depth, boat speed, water temperature, GPS position, heading, heel, and trim. This pack is intended to be complemented by a chartplotter or instrument displays to form a standalone navigation system.
Wireless wind sensor WS320
The pack includes the wireless wind sensor WS320, which delivers wind speed and angle data with updates five times per second. Its wireless design simplifies installation by eliminating the need for mast wiring. The WS320 has undergone rigorous testing to ensure accuracy.
Through-hull DST810 sensor
The through-hull DST810 is a compact multisensor for depth, boat speed through water, and water temperature. It uses patented signal processing for paddlewheel-level accuracy, particularly at speeds below 5 knots, and provides linear output across all speed ranges. Its wide, fan-shaped beam allows bottom detection even on deep-keel hulls or when the sailboat is heeled.
GPS antenna ZG100 with compass
The integrated ZG100 GPS antenna provides accurate and reliable positioning data with a 10 Hz update rate for smooth position information. Its accuracy is enhanced by compatibility with secondary satellite systems WAAS, EGNOS, MSAS, and Galileo, and it supports QZSS. The built-in compass supplies heading data for instruments, chart stabilization in "Head Up" mode, and radar overlays, as well as heel and trim data. The ZG100 supports the following NMEA 2000 PGNs: 126025 (Position Rapid Update), 126902 (System Time), 127250 (Compass Heading), 127251 (Rate of Turn), 127257 (Attitude), 127258 (Magnetic Variation), 129026 (COG & SOG RU), 129029 (Position Data), 129539 (GNS DISP), 129540 (GNS Satellites in view). It has a horizontal accuracy of 3 m and a heading accuracy of +/- 3°. Power consumption is below 2W, and the unit has an IPX7 waterproof rating. Dimensions are 90 mm diameter by 38 mm height, weighing approximately 0.14 kg.
NMEA 2000 integration and installation
The pack includes a Micro-C NMEA 2000 backbone kit with all necessary cables and connectors. This kit simplifies installation and network configuration, providing network extension cables (6 ft and 15 ft), a network power cable, T-connectors and network terminators, as well as 2 m and 5 m N2K cables. The ZG100 connects via NMEA 2000 Micro C and can be flush-mounted or installed on a standard mast.
