The B&G WS320 Spare PCBA is the replacement printed circuit board assembly designed specifically for the B&G WS320 wireless wind sensor. This part is essential for maintaining the performance and reliability of the onboard wind measurement system.
Accuracy and performance of the WS320 sensor
The WS320 wind sensor, of which this PCBA is the central component, offers a wind speed resolution of 0.05 m/sec (0.1 knot) and an accuracy of +/- 0.1 m/sec (0.2 knot) over a range of 1 to 40 m/sec (2 to 80 knots). The wind speed range covered by the sensor extends from 0.25 to 50 m/sec (0.5 to 97 knots). For wind angle, the resolution is 0.1° with an accuracy of +/- 0.5°.
Connectivity and environmental robustness
The PCBA enables the WS320 sensor to provide wireless connectivity with a range of up to 30 meters (98 feet). Apparent wind data (speed and angle) is transmitted at a frequency of 5 Hz. The sensor is powered by a solar source and an internal battery, supplemented by a 9-16 V DC supply via the Micro-C network, with a consumption of 1.2 W (<100 mA at 12 V DC). Designed for the marine environment, the WS320 sensor, and by extension its PCBA, is rated IPx6 and IPx7 for waterproofing, and supports operating temperatures from -25°C to +60°C and storage temperatures from -40°C to +85°C. It is also resistant to humidity (66°C, 95% RH, 18 hours).
