Detailed description
Detailed description
The battery control center BEP 80-700-0052-00 is a power management system designed for vessels with three engines. It centralizes power routing and ensures the safety of complex electrical systems on board. This system integrates motorized battery switches 701-MD, allowing remote control of battery banks.
Technical Specifications and Capacities
This control center is designed for triple-engine installations. It offers a continuous current rating of 275 amperes DC, an intermittent current rating of 455 amperes DC, and a cranking current rating of 1250 amperes DC. The maximum supported voltage is 32 volts DC. The system provides manual and motorized (On/Off) operating modes. It is also ignition-protected. The terminals are 2 x 10mm (3/8 inch), made of tinned copper with nuts. Power consumption is 15mA when the switch is in the "off" position. The maximum recommended cable size is 50mm²; for cables larger than 50mm² (up to 70mm² or 00 AWG), a strain relief is required.
Key Features and Benefits
The BEP 80-700-0052-00 allows remote control of batteries, enabling their placement close to the battery banks. This reduces cable length and cross-section to the starter, bow thrusters, and converters, minimizing voltage drops and wiring costs. It is equipped with a dedicated sealed key switch with an integrated connector, capable of activating or deactivating the entire boat’s electrical system, including the 701-MD battery switches of the port, center, starboard, and service batteries.
The system includes four lockable rocker isolation switches, providing individual control and manual isolation of each battery switch in an emergency. Once the engines are started and the starter batteries reach 13.7V or 27.4V, the remote MDVS battery switches connect the service battery to all starter banks, ensuring full charging of all batteries. The system includes a manual control option to comply with CE requirements and LED indicators for the remote control switch status. It can be mounted vertically or horizontally, with junction plates provided for both configurations, and uses the same interchangeable labeling system as standard BEP battery switches. Its construction is designed for robustness in marine environments.
