Detailed description
The BEP CZone 701-MDCZ is a motorized remote-controlled battery switch, specifically optimized for CZone digital switching systems. Unlike standard models in the BEP 701-MD range that require an external relay for remote control, this version integrates direct connectivity with CZone output modules. This significantly simplifies wiring and speeds up installation, while providing precise control from a CZone display or remote switches.
Designed for CZone systems
The 701-MDCZ is the only motorized battery switch from BEP developed specifically for the CZone ecosystem. It differs from the standard 701-MD by its ability to be directly controlled by a CZone output module, without an intermediate relay. This optimization reduces the number of connections and potential failure points, while offering cleaner and more reliable integration in complex CZone installations. It also supports multiple remote switches, such as a dashboard switch and a wireless remote control, for maximum flexibility.
Electrical performance and robustness
With a continuous capacity of 275 amps and 455 amps intermittently, the 701-MDCZ is designed to handle the high loads of modern marine electrical systems. Its starting current reaches 1250 amps for 10 seconds, making it suitable for service batteries and high-power engines. It operates within a voltage range of 8 to 30.5 volts DC, covering 12V and 24V installations. Its robust design includes 10 mm tinned copper studs and IPX6 waterproofing (water-resistant), ensuring long-term reliability in demanding marine environments.
Integrated reliability and safety
Reliability is at the core of the 701-MDCZ's design. In case of connection or power loss, the battery switch remains in its current state, preventing any unintended circuit interruption. An optional piezoelectric buzzer (ref. 54-27C4) can be connected to provide audible confirmation of remote control actions (two beeps for activation, one beep for shutdown). The switch is also ignition-protected (UL 1107) and features a removable button for isolation during maintenance, offering maximum safety.
