The BEP DC MONITOR, COLOR W/ SHUNT AND CABLE-R (part number 80-600-0021-00) is a monitoring solution dedicated to DC electrical systems on board vessels. Designed to provide full visibility on the condition of your battery bank and DC consumers, it features a 2.8-inch, 16-bit TFT LCD color screen for clear and detailed information display. This monitor comes complete with a shunt and its cable, enabling quick installation and immediate operation.

Advanced monitoring capabilities

The BEP DC MONITOR, COLOR W/ SHUNT AND CABLE-R integrates versatile DC monitoring functions with 5 types of assigned inputs (DC voltage, DC current, pump, tank, and SOM - State Of Monitor). It offers 4 default configuration files at startup (DCM, DCTLM, TLM, Vessel Status), allowing precise adaptation to various marine applications. Users can select the most relevant configuration to display data such as battery voltage and current, tank levels, or pump operation status. Data is presented via two dedicated views: Mimic (text and image) and Battery (text and bar graph), providing intuitive interpretation.

Integration and reliability

This BEP monitor operates on 8 to 32V DC power, with a maximum consumption of 140 mA and a minimum of 90 mA in sleep mode, optimizing onboard energy management. Its compact dimensions of 89 mm x 99 mm x 19 mm facilitate integration into any dashboard. Full-speed USB 2.0 connectivity enables updates and advanced configurations. To ensure optimal accuracy and minimize external interference, it is mandatory to use a shielded twisted-pair cable (minimum 0.25mm²) between the shunt and the monitor. The monitor also includes a 1A max @ 12V DC remote alarm output to notify critical events.

In comparison, the 600-acsm monitor, also from BEP, is designed for AC system monitoring, handling 0-300V AC voltages and 0-120A AC RMS currents across up to three inputs. This distinction positions the DC model as the ideal tool for comprehensive battery and DC consumer management, while its AC counterpart handles alternating current sources such as shore power or generators. Together, they provide full coverage of onboard electrical consumption.
