Detailed description
Detailed description
The BEP HD 8-stud 650A busbar is a robust power distribution solution designed for high-demand marine electrical systems. This model stands out for its ability to handle continuous current of 650 amperes at 50 VDC, exceeding the 4-stud 500A versions and offering higher connection density than the 3- and 5-stud 650A models in the same range. With its 8 stainless steel 10 mm (3/8") studs, it ensures reliable and secure connections for main circuits.
Marine-grade design and materials
Manufactured with tinned copper conductors (CDA102), this busbar guarantees optimal conductivity and enhanced corrosion resistance in marine environments. The high-temperature fiberglass-reinforced plastic base provides excellent mechanical strength and chemical resistance, while the transparent polycarbonate cover offers visual and physical protection of the connections while allowing quick inspection. Dimensions of 249 x 49 x 64 mm (9.8" x 1.9" x 2.5") and a weight of 841g (29.7 oz) confirm its solid construction.
Positioning and system integration
Unlike the BEP 10 or 18-way Z-bars, which are intended for 200A auxiliary circuit distribution with 4 mm terminals, the BEP HD 8-stud 650A busbar is specifically optimized for high-power applications, acting as a central point for battery cables, inverters, or windlasses. It enables clean and efficient wiring organization, reducing the risk of short circuits and simplifying maintenance. The detachable sections of the cover simplify cable routing, ensuring flexible installation suited to naval environment constraints.
