The BEP key switch is a remote control switch designed to operate BEP Marine series 7 battery isolators (models 722, 701MD, 720MD). This device allows you to turn your battery on or off remotely from a dashboard or console, providing a practical and secure power management solution. It eliminates the need to install a main battery isolator directly accessible, simplifying wiring and improving cockpit ergonomics.
Operation and compatibility
The switch operates by sending a control signal to a compatible series 7 battery isolator. It is designed for simple installation, with direct wiring to the battery isolator. Unlike integrated solutions such as BEP’s Smart Battery Hub (SBH), which manages switching, monitoring, and charging via NMEA 2000, this key switch is a dedicated and more economical solution for on/off control. It serves as a reliable alternative to generic key switches, with robust construction suited for marine environments.
