Detailed description
Detailed description
Designed for optimized electrical management aboard, the BEP 275A 32V remote-controlled battery switch provides a main battery disconnection solution. This device is particularly suited to marine installations and recreational vehicles where centralized control and reduced cable lengths are critical. It stands out from traditional manual switches by its ability to be mounted directly near the battery, thereby reducing heavy-gauge cable runs, installation costs, and overall system weight.
Performance and technical reliability
The BEP AD185 battery switch is engineered for demanding applications, offering a continuous DC current rating of 275 amperes and handling an intermittent current of 455 amperes DC for 5 minutes. Its starting capacity reaches 1250 amperes DC for 10 seconds. Operating within a DC voltage range of 9.5 to 32 volts, it is compatible with 12V and 24V systems. Its low power consumption in "off" mode, typically 12 mA, preserves battery charge. The construction features tinned copper conductors, stainless steel nuts, and high-temperature reinforced plastics, ensuring durability in marine environments. The terminals are equipped with two 10 mm (3/8 inch) tinned copper studs. The product is tested to UL1107 ignition protection standards.
Advanced features and integration
This remote-controlled battery switch incorporates key features for safe and efficient use. Its remote operation allows the switch to be positioned in an optimal location, while a manual override option ensures compliance with CE/ABYC requirements in the event of electrical failure. An LED indicator on the control panel (sold separately) provides visual feedback on the switch status. The BEP battery switch is designed for easy integration into digital management systems such as CZone and supports multiple remote switches for the same battery bank. Its "fail-safe" design ensures the switch retains its last state even in the event of power loss or remote control connection failure. The system is also compatible with an interchangeable labeling system (items 713 or 715).
