Detailed description
Detailed description
The BEP 716-V-140A-DVSR battery distribution cluster is a complete, integrated solution specifically designed for single-engine marine systems with two battery banks. This device combines a motorized battery switch from the 701 series, known for its remote control, and a voltage-sensitive relay (DVSR) for intelligent and automatic charge management. It serves as a compact, optimized alternative to installing separate components, simplifying integration and reducing onboard wiring complexity.
Performance and robustness for power management
The BEP 716-V-140A-DVSR is designed for high electrical performance, supporting a continuous current of 275 amperes DC, an intermittent current of 455 amperes DC, and an impressive starting current of 1250 amperes DC. The maximum voltage for the integrated switch is 32 volts DC, while the VSR can handle up to 48 volts DC. The 2 x 3/8" (10mm) tinned copper connection studs ensure optimal conductivity and corrosion resistance. This cluster is UL 1107 certified for the VSR, spark-proof, and CE compliant, guaranteeing increased reliability and safety in marine environments. Its "water resistant" design enhances durability in demanding conditions.
Advanced features and system integration
The voltage-sensitive relay (DVSR) of the BEP 716-V-140A-DVSR automatically engages at 13.7 volts and disengages at 12.8 volts, optimizing the charging of both battery banks without manual intervention. It supports a maximum alternator current of 100A, ensuring broad compatibility with various alternators. The remote control of the battery switch allows for optimized mounting of the cluster near the batteries, reducing cable lengths and associated costs, similar to other products in the BEP MD range, such as the "Single Engine Remote Switch Cluster" (80-716-0014-00). This centralized approach minimizes power consumption in the off position (15mA) and simplifies overall control of the boat's electrical system. Its ability to use cable up to 50mm² (with an absolute maximum of 70mm² with strain relief) offers flexibility for robust installations.
