Detailed description
Detailed description
Designed for demanding marine electrical systems, the BLUE SEA MaxiBus 250A busbar (reference 2105-BSS) provides a centralized and reliable distribution solution. This component is rated to handle currents up to 250 amperes, making it a key element for installations requiring efficient consolidation of power feeds and ground returns.
Design and connectivity
The MaxiBus 250A features two 5/16"-18 stainless steel studs for heavy-gauge connections or main cables, accepting 5/16" or M8 ring terminals. Additionally, twelve #10-24 screws are provided for connecting secondary circuits or accessories, compatible with #10 or M5 ring terminals. This mixed configuration allows for versatile arrangement of onboard electrical systems. The 5/16"-18 thread pitch on the studs and #10-24 on the screws ensures secure terminal fastening.
Installation and safety
The busbar dimensions are 201.3mm (7.93in) total length, with a mounting center-to-center distance of 181.0mm (7.13in) for #10 or M5 hardware. Its width is 48.5mm (1.91in) and height is 29.5mm (1.16in). The design includes stainless steel serrated flange nuts for the studs, enhancing vibration resistance. The BLUE SEA MaxiBus 250A busbar is certified compliant with Directive 94/25/EC as amended by 2003/44/EC, in accordance with ISO 8846 for ignition protection of surrounding flammable gases. This certification, shared with other products in the range such as MiniBus 2314 and 2315, or models 2104 and 2107, confirms its suitability for safe operation in marine environments.
