Detailed description
Detailed description
Designed for complex marine electrical installations, the Blue Sea 5032B-BSS ST Blade split-bus fuse block provides differentiated circuit management. It allows combining on a single block six continuously powered circuits (24 hours) and six switched circuits, optimizing onboard wiring organization. This system eliminates the need for two separate blocks for permanent and controlled power requirements, simplifying the integration of essential equipment such as bilge pumps and navigation systems.
Capacities and technical specifications
The 5032B-BSS is rated for a maximum voltage of 32V DC, with a 30A capacity per individual circuit and a total current of 100A (not exceeding 80A per load group). It uses ATO® or ATC® type fuses, widely available. Connections are made via #8-32 screw terminals with captive lock washers for branch circuits, accepting 10 to 16 AWG (6-15 mm²) wires. The main power connects via #10-32 studs, suitable for 4 to 6 AWG (25-16 mm²) wires, secured with stainless steel flange nuts. Recommended torque is 2.71 N·m (24 in-lb) for #10 studs and 2.03 N·m (18 in-lb) for #8 screws.
Design and integration
This fuse block features tinned copper bus bars and fuse clips, ensuring conductivity and corrosion resistance suitable for marine environments. The transparent insulating cover meets ABYC/USCG isolation requirements and includes label holders and storage space for two spare fuses. Compared to other Blue Sea products, such as the 5035 block (6 independent circuits) or the 5025 (6 positive circuits), the 5032B-BSS stands out with its split-bus configuration with integrated ground, offering enhanced flexibility for installations requiring a mix of permanent and switched circuits in a single location. Fuses and labels are sold separately.
