Detailed description
Detailed description
Designed to protect marine electrical systems, the Blue Sea Systems Alternator Mode switch incorporates an essential alternator field disconnect (AFD) function. This feature is critical to prevent damage to the alternator diodes if the battery switch is toggled to OFF while the engine is running, ensuring the longevity of your equipment.
Protection and Versatility
These switches are available in 3- or 4-position selector configurations, offering flexibility for managing battery banks. The "Make-Before-Break" contact design allows switching between battery banks without interrupting power supply, ensuring continuous service for essential boat systems. With a maximum voltage of 32V DC, they are suitable for a wide range of marine installations.
Robust Design and Marine Safety
Constructed from non-corrosive marine-grade metals and molded in durable reinforced polycarbonate, Blue Sea Systems Alternator Mode switches are designed to withstand demanding marine environments. They are "Ignition Protected", making them safe for installation on gasoline-powered boats, meeting ISO 8846 and SAE J1171 standards. The versatile mounting options allow for surface or rear-panel installation. The tinned copper terminals ensure maximum conductivity and corrosion resistance, with a one-piece terminal stud design resistant to loosening. Compliance with standards such as ABYC E-11, CE Marked, UL Listed (UL1107, UL 1500), ISO 8846, and IP66 protection (dust-tight and protected against heavy seas and water jets) confirms their reliability at sea.
