Designed for demanding marine and DC systems, the Blue Sea Systems P12 12V DC 25A 3-output battery charger Gen 2 (part number 7531) is a robust and versatile charging solution. It delivers 25 amperes of nominal 12V DC output current across three positive and one negative output, allowing simultaneous charging of up to three battery banks.
Advanced Charging Technology
This charger features an advanced four-stage charging process: Bulk, Absorption, PreFloat™, and Float. The PreFloat™ phase individually manages each battery bank by moving it out of the Absorption phase once nearly fully charged, preventing overcharging and extending battery life. It supports multiple battery types, including AGM, flooded lead-acid, gel, and TPPL (Thin Plate Pure Lead), with the ability to set custom charge profiles. Recommended battery bank sizes range from a minimum of 60Ah to a maximum of 330Ah.
Marine-Environment Design and Features
The Blue Sea Systems 7531 is housed in a die-cast aluminum enclosure with fins, designed for dry installation and efficient heat dissipation, ensuring protection of electronic components in harsh environments. It features ignition protection compliant with ISO 8846 and SAE J1171 and is certified to CE, UL-1236 Marine, CSA 22.2 No. 107.2, and ABYC A-31. Its IP32 rating indicates resistance to water spray and dust. Operating temperatures range from -20°C to 70°C, and storage temperatures from -30°C to 80°C.
The unit accepts a universal AC input voltage of 90V to 265V AC at 45–65 Hz, making it compatible with global power sources. It includes battery temperature compensation that adjusts charge voltage based on ambient temperature, optimizing the charging process. Multiple protections are included: AC overvoltage and undervoltage with automatic restart, extreme battery temperature protection, DC overvoltage, reverse polarity, surges, and short circuits. The charger features power factor correction for efficient AC energy use.
User Interface and System Integration
The user interface includes a bright, intuitive graphical display showing clear diagnostics and operational history in multiple languages (English, French, German, Italian, Spanish). The Charge Coordination™ feature enables integration with Blue Sea Systems Automatic Charging Relays (ACR) for synchronized battery bank management. The charger is backed by a 5-year warranty and is designed, assembled, and tested in the United States.
