Detailed description
Detailed description
The Blue Sea Systems DC BATTERYMNG E 2DUALCIRCPLUS battery management panel is designed for marine applications requiring efficient management of multiple battery banks, particularly in twin-engine configurations. This system integrates two Dual Circuit Plus™ battery switches from the e series (PN 5511e), allowing isolated management of two battery banks.
Features and Performance
Each Dual Circuit Plus™ switch offers three positions and manages two battery inputs. The system supports a maximum voltage of 32V DC. It features a continuous rated current of 350A per circuit and an intermittent current of 525A per circuit for 5 minutes. The starting capacity is 700A per circuit for 30 seconds. The "make-before-break" design of these switches ensures seamless switching between battery banks without power interruption. The panel is designed for high current protection.
Safety and Integration
The panel includes ignition protection, making it suitable for installation on gasoline-powered vessels. It meets external ignition protection requirements UL 1500 and SAE J1171. Its design is rated IP66, ensuring protection against dust and powerful water jets. It is also CE marked and compliant with ISO 8846 and UL 1107 standards for electrical power switches, as well as ABYC requirements for battery switches. The 3/8" - 16 (M10) stud terminals require a tightening torque of 15.82 Nm and are compatible with 4/0 AWG (120mm²) cable to meet rated currents. The panel includes an emergency coupling function to power all consumers from both batteries. Independent management of starting and service circuits reduces the risk of fully discharging both batteries and protects onboard electronics from voltage drops during startup.
Installation and Options
The panel is designed for surface or flush mounting. It is supplied with 4218 square format labels and 4140 round labels. Adding Automatic Charging Relays (ACR) allows automated charging for three battery banks, optimizing onboard energy management.
