The FURUNO FAP-3011 is an additional 4.1-inch control head designed to integrate with the Furuno NAVpilot-300 adaptive autopilot system. This 320 x 240 pixel (QVGA) TFT LCD color screen offers approximately 700 cd/m² brightness and 8-level adjustable contrast for optimal visibility. It connects directly to the vessel’s NMEA2000 backbone, simplifying installation and allowing up to three control heads to be added to the NAVpilot-300 system.
Integration and Advanced Features
The FAP-3011 supports multiple steering modes, including Standby, Auto, Dodge, NFU (Non-Follow Up), Turn, Advanced Auto, Navigation, and FishHunter™. It also features day and night modes for ambient light adaptation. The unit is powered via NMEA2000 (15 VDC, 0.29 A max, LEN: 6) and is built to marine standards with IP56 ingress protection and IEC 60945 Ed.4 vibration compliance.
Mounting Options and Compatibility
This control head can be flush-mounted (0.22 kg) or bracket-mounted (0.43 kg), offering installation flexibility aboard. It is compatible with Volvo IPS and Yamaha HelmMaster systems when used with NAVpilot-300, though specific gateways are required for these integrations, and restrictions apply for Volvo Penta IPS with the Marine Leisure app. It integrates with optional accessories such as the GC-001 wireless remote.
