Designed for professional navigation, the FURUNO GP170/GPA017S is a reliable GPS chartplotter with a 5.7" color LCD screen. This VGA display (640 x 480 pixels) delivers 700 cd/m² brightness, ensuring clear visibility in various lighting conditions. It integrates a 12-channel GPS receiver with 2 SBAS channels, guaranteeing positioning accuracy not exceeding 10m (2 drms) for GPS and 3m (2 drms) with WAAS.

Advanced accuracy and connectivity

The GP170/GPA017S features a 10 Hz position update rate, refreshing data every 0.1 seconds for responsive navigation. It supports SBAS augmentation systems (WAAS/EGNOS), MSAS, QZSS and GLONASS, with an optional DGPS via a DGPS beacon receiver and GPA-021S antenna. The standard GPA017S antenna ships with a 15m cable. For system integration, this GPS chartplotter has 4 NMEA 0183 ports (2 In/Out, 1 Out, 1 In/Out IEC 61162-2), an Ethernet port IEC 61162-450 for bridge systems, and a front USB port for data import/export.

Features and robustness

With memory capacity for 1,000 track points, 2,000 waypoints and 100 routes (each up to 1,000 waypoints), the FURUNO GP170/GPA017S provides extensive route planning capabilities. It operates on 12-24V DC and has an IP56 protection rating. Compliant with IMO MSC.112 (73), IEC 61108-1, IMO MSC.114 (73) and IEC 61108-4, it is Wheelmark certified. Features include improved position stability thanks to a new GPS chip and antenna, high tolerance to multipath signal attenuation, bridge alert management (BAM Ready), and various display modes such as Chartplotter, Highway, Course, Data and Integrity. Dual configuration is possible for redundancy, enabling data sharing between units.
