The multipurpose and programmable FURUNO IF-2550-IEC1 interface is designed to optimize the integration of marine electronic equipment. It provides a unified solution for managing NMEA data, replacing several previous units such as the MD-550, IF-1001, IF-2300, IF-2500, and IF-2503, and consolidating their features into a single module.

Connectivity and NMEA Data Management

With its 3 NMEA0183 inputs, the IF-2550-IEC1 allows combining data from various sources, ensuring flexible integration of systems. Its 8 NMEA0183 outputs can distribute data from one or two sources to multiple devices, ensuring efficient information dissemination. This interface supports NMEA0183 versions 1.5, 2.0, 3.x, and 4.x, offering extended compatibility with modern and existing equipment.

Performance and Advanced Features

The IF-2550-IEC1 operates at baud rates of 4800 and 38400 bps, enabling fast data transfer between devices. Its compact plastic design ensures direct integration aboard. The unit includes a specialized "Ferry" mode to reverse heading data by 180 degrees, a useful feature for double-ended ferries. Its programmability via DIP switches allows customized configuration of functions, enabling precise adaptation to the specific needs of each installation. Power is supplied via a 12-24V DC input.
