SFD-1012 — 12.1" touchscreen single-function modular display for multibeam fishfinder DFF3D, sonar

The FURUNO SFD-1012 touchscreen display is a 12.1-inch modular unit designed for flexible integration into marine navigation and fishing systems. It features an XGA resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels and a brightness of 800 cd/m² or higher, ensuring clear visibility with a minimum viewing angle of 80°. Its multi-touch interface, complemented by physical control buttons, allows for intuitive operation.

Connectivity and sensor versatility

The SFD-1012 is equipped with multiple interfaces, including 2 serial ports (NMEA0183), 1 LAN port (Ethernet), 1 USB 2.0 port, 1 NMEA2000 port, and 1 HDMI port. This extensive connectivity enables it to work with a wide range of FURUNO sensors. It is compatible with DRS4DL X-Class/DRS4DL+ radars, various fishfinders (DFF3-UHD, BBDS1, DFF1, DFF1-UHD, DFF3), and the DFF-3D multibeam fishfinder. The unit can be configured to support up to two sensors with two displays, one sensor with two displays, or one sensor with a single display, with a maximum of two displays and one radar unit per configuration.

Advanced features for fishing and navigation

When connected to the DFF-3D multibeam fishfinder, the SFD-1012 offers high-resolution display modes such as cross-section, 3D history, Triple Beam, and Side-Scan. It also enables rapid creation of custom shaded bathymetric charts via the Personal Bathymetric Generator (PBG) function in conjunction with the DFF-3D or other compatible fishfinders. The DFF-3D/SFD combination enhances fishing efficiency through overlay of marine currents (requires a FURUNO CI serial connection) and a virtual net marker. For radar applications, it supports Plug-and-Play systems like the DRS4DL X-Class/DRS4DL+, including features such as Fast Target Tracking™. It also allows multi-station radar display, connecting two SFD displays to a single radar unit.

Integration and robustness

With a 12-24 VDC power supply and a consumption of 3.0-1.5 A, the FURUNO SFD-1012 is suitable for various marine installations. Its IP25 waterproof rating makes it resistant to water spray. The modular design includes an adjustable mount, allowing free adjustment of screen orientation (landscape or portrait) without additional tools. This display can also serve as a sub-monitor when integrated into a NavNet TZtouch network, displaying and enabling operation of sensor data on the network.
