Detailed description
Detailed description
Designed for navigation and performance monitoring, the FURUNO ST-02MSB is a through-hull sensor that provides accurate measurements of boat speed through water and water temperature. Housed in a marine-grade Airmar B17 bronze housing, it is suited to demanding marine environments.
Design and Robustness
The through-hull bronze housing ensures corrosion resistance and durability for long-term use. Its low-profile design, protruding only 5 mm from the hull, minimizes drag. This sensor requires a standard 51 mm diameter through-hull opening for installation.
Accuracy and Features
The ST-02MSB offers a temperature accuracy of ±0.3 °C and a fast 5-second response time, enabling efficient detection of thermal variations. It features a retractable insert with a water valve, allowing removal for cleaning or maintenance without dry-docking. The sensor operates on 6 to 28 VDC and measures water temperatures from 0° to 30°C. Its weight is 1.3 kg.
Connectivity and Integration
The sensor comes with a 9-meter cable and a 6-pin connector. It is designed to integrate with Furuno marine electronics systems, including chartplotters (GP and NavNet series with 6-pin sensor inputs), multifunction displays, fishfinders, and navigation systems. It connects to fishfinders via an MJ connection, acting as an analog speed and temperature sensor. NMEA 2000 connectivity is possible via an interface box (not included).
