Detailed description
Detailed description
The GARMIN AIRMAR® B60 (12° tilt) through-hull transducer is designed to provide accurate depth and water temperature readings on fiberglass and wooden hulls. With 600 W power and dual-frequency capability, it suits a variety of sailing conditions.
Sonar Performance
This transducer operates on two frequencies: 50 kHz with a 45° beam width and a maximum depth of 366 m (1200 ft), and 200 kHz with a 12° beam width and a range of 213 m (700 ft). This combination delivers deep-water performance and targeted detail in shallower waters. The transducer also includes a fast-response water temperature sensor.
Design and Installation
The AIRMAR® B60 features Tilted Element™ technology with a 12° tilted ceramic element in a bronze housing. This design corrects hull angle (8° to 15°) without requiring a fairing block, directing the beam straight down for optimal readings. Its low profile extends only 5 mm (3/16") from the hull, minimizing drag. It is compatible with fiberglass or wooden hulls and requires a 60 mm (2-3/8") hole for installation. The 10 m (33 ft) cable is equipped with an 8-pin Garmin connector, which may require an adapter for 6-pin Garmin sounders. The transducer weighs 1.4 kg (3 lbs) and is suitable for vessels up to 8 m (26 ft) LOA, including center-console boats or trailerable vessels.
