Detailed description
Detailed description
The Garmin Airmar B75M through-hull transducer (12° deadrise) is designed for compatible Garmin sonar systems, offering traditional scanning and CHIRP (Compressed High-Intensity Radiated Pulse) capabilities. This 600 W bronze transducer provides depth and water temperature data with rapid response, optimizing underwater detection for navigation and fishing.
CHIRP technology and performance
With its spread-spectrum CHIRP technology, the Airmar B75M transducer operates across a mid-band frequency range of 80 to 130 kHz. This wide-band capability enables improved target separation and clear fish returns when paired with compatible sonar systems such as the Garmin GSD™ 26. The beam width ranges from 24° to 16°, ensuring detailed coverage beneath the boat. Its 600 W power allows reaching a maximum depth of 274 meters (900 feet), with some sources also citing 800 feet.
Design and installation
The low-profile bronze housing of this through-hull transducer features a fixed 12° tilt element. This tilt corrects hull deadrise angles between 8° and 15°, directing the sonar beam straight down without requiring a fairing block. This design simplifies installation and ensures optimal performance. The transducer is compatible with fiberglass or wooden hulls. It includes an 8-pin Garmin connector and requires a 70 mm (2-13/16 inch) hole for mounting. The transducer also integrates Airmar’s exclusive Xducer ID technology.
