Detailed description
Detailed description
The Airmar DST810 smart sensor by Garmin is a through-hull multifunction sensor designed to provide essential navigation data with improved accuracy. This model integrates a Gen2 paddlewheel and Bluetooth connectivity to the Airmar CAST™ app, offering a complete solution for measuring depth, speed through water, temperature, and boat attitude.
Speed and depth performance
The DST810 stands out with its Gen2 paddlewheel, which ensures speed through water responsiveness from 0.3 knots and linearity from 0.6 knots, maintaining accuracy up to 45 knots. The speed output is refreshed at 5.7 Hz (5 times per second), ensuring smoother data and increased responsiveness for decision-making. For depth, the sensor operates at a frequency of 235 kHz, with a minimum range of 0.5 m and a maximum range of 100 m via NMEA 2000®. Water temperature is measured with an accuracy of ±0.5°C over a range of -10°C to 40°C.
Advanced calibration and system integration
This sensor integrates an attitude sensor for heel and trim, with a nominal accuracy of +/- 1° after calibration. This data is used for advanced heel-compensated speed calibration, a feature previously available only through expensive PC software. The Airmar CAST™ app enables intuitive calibration and custom configurations directly from a mobile device, facilitating optimization of the sensor's performance. The DST810 is NMEA 2000® compatible, integrating directly into the onboard network for data transmission to multifunction displays and instruments. It can replace existing DT800 or DST800 transducers, using the same through-hull fitting, which simplifies equipment upgrades. Its housing features a self-sealing valve, minimizing water entry when removing the insert for maintenance.
