Detailed description
Detailed description
Designed for fiberglass or metal hulls, the GARMIN Airmar P19 plastic through-hull sonar is a dual-frequency solution for depth and water temperature detection. With its 20° tilted element technology, it compensates for the deadrise angle of hulls with a deadrise of 16° to 24°, ensuring optimal horizontal beam orientation for precise echo returns. Its discreet design minimizes drag under the hull.
Sonar Performance and Compatibility
The Airmar P19 operates at 77/200 kHz frequencies with 300W power, offering a beam coverage of 45° at 77 kHz and 15° at 200 kHz. It can reach a maximum depth of 274 meters (900 feet). The 9-meter (30-foot) cable is equipped with an 8-pin Garmin connector, ensuring direct integration with compatible Garmin sounder and chartplotter systems. The P19 model serves as an economical plastic alternative to bronze (such as the B60) or stainless steel (such as the SS60) Airmar transducers, intended for different hull types or specific robustness requirements.
Design and Installation
The low-profile design of the GARMIN Airmar P19, with only 5 mm (3/16") of extension outside the hull, helps reduce drag and preserves the boat’s aesthetics. The required hole diameter is 51 mm (2 inches). The right-angle cable exit protects the cable and facilitates installation in confined spaces. This transducer complies with ABYC H-27 standards for plastic housings, ensuring a secure and reliable installation below the waterline.
