Detailed description
Detailed description
The GARMIN AIRMAR® R109LHW through-hull transducer is a solution designed for demanding anglers, offering dual-band CHIRP sonar capabilities for deep and shallow water fishing.
Advanced CHIRP Performance
This urethane transducer features a dual-band CHIRP architecture, covering low frequencies from 38 to 75 kHz and wide high frequencies from 150 to 250 kHz. With a power output of 2 kW, it can reach maximum depths of 1,829 m (6,000 ft) in low frequency and up to 152 m (500 ft) in wide high frequency. This setup allows the use of various popular fishing frequencies, such as 50, 68, and 200 kHz, from a single transducer.
Coverage and Accuracy
The AIRMAR® R109LHW sounder provides optimized bottom detail and target separation. Its low-frequency beam varies from 19° to 10° port-starboard and from 10° to 5° fore-aft. The wide high-frequency beam maintains a constant 25° angle, ensuring twice the coverage in shallow water compared to narrow-beam high-frequency transducers. This transducer also delivers fast-response depth and water temperature data. The patented Xducer ID® technology enables automatic transducer recognition by compatible electronic devices, simplifying setup.
Robust Design and Installation
Designed for through-hull installation, the GARMIN AIRMAR® R109LHW features a urethane housing and fairing block for optimal acoustic performance and durability. It is compatible with all hull materials and accommodates keel angles from 0° to 25°. The 15 m (49 ft) cable terminates in bare wires for custom connection. Its weight is approximately 15.1 kg (33.3 lb).
