For optimal performance and to avoid exposure to radio frequencies, the radome must be mounted while respecting several considerations:

It is strongly recommended to mount the unit out of reach of personnel, with the horizontal beam above head height.The unit must be mounted high above the boat's keel line, with minimal obstruction between the boat and the radar beam.It should be installed on a flat surface or a platform parallel to the boat's waterline and sufficiently robust to support its weight.Avoid mounting it near heat sources (exhausts, lights) and at the same height as spreaders or transverse spreaders.Maintain a safe distance from a magnetic compass, other electronic equipment and cables (at least 2 m from the radar beam path), and from transmission equipment (at least 1 m).

The GMR Fantom 18x radome uses Garmin BlueNet™ technology and is compatible with Garmin BlueNet devices and Garmin Marine Network.

For a Garmin BlueNet network: Connect the included Garmin BlueNet cable to an open network port on your Garmin BlueNet chartplotter or a Garmin BlueNet 20 switch.For a Garmin Marine Network: You must use a Garmin Marine Network adapter cable (part number 010-12531-01, sold separately if not included) to connect the radome’s Garmin BlueNet cable to an open network port on your Garmin Marine Network chartplotter or a GMS™ 10 port expander.Make sure to tighten the locking collars on the connectors for a secure connection.
