Detailed description
Detailed description
Designed for Garmin autopilot systems, the GRF™ 10 rudder angle sensor provides precise and reliable feedback on rudder position. This device uses magnetic sensor technology, distinguishing it from traditional potentiometer sensors that are prone to mechanical wear. By eliminating physical contacts, the GRF™ 10 ensures extended lifespan and consistent accuracy, essential for navigation and maneuvers.
Accuracy and Integration
With a maximum travel range of 140 degrees (70 degrees on each side of center), the GRF™ 10 is compatible with a wide range of tiller configurations. It integrates with Garmin autopilot systems such as the GHP 12, GHP 20, GHP Reactor, and GHP Reactor 40, via a 12-pin rudder feedback connector. This compatibility ensures smoother maneuvering, reduces overcompensation, and helps prevent rudder stops, thereby protecting the steering system.
Design and Installation
The GRF™ 10 sensor measures 60.8 x 70 x 191.4 mm and weighs 157 g. Manufactured with marine-grade materials, it is designed to withstand harsh marine environments. Its 2-meter cable can be extended with 5 or 15-meter extension cables sold separately. The 300 mm connecting rod can be adjusted in length and must be installed within +/- 5 degrees of level for optimal performance, ensuring flexible installation for various boat types.
