Detailed description
Detailed description
Designed for inshore and offshore fishing, the Garmin GT21-TM is an 8-pin through-hull transducer combining traditional sonar and CHIRP ClearVü scanning capabilities. It delivers detailed images of underwater structures and fish arches with improved target separation.
Advanced Sonar Capabilities
The GT21-TM’s traditional sonar operates at 50/200 kHz with 600 W of power, reaching a maximum depth of 457 m (1,500 ft). Its beam width is 40°/10°. Meanwhile, the CHIRP ClearVü sonar delivers 500 W at 260/455 kHz (CHIRP ranges: 245–275 kHz and 445–465 kHz), with beams of 2.0°x51° at 260 kHz and 1.4°x29° at 455 kHz, for a maximum depth of 305 m (1,000 ft). This combination enables versatile detection across various fishing conditions, setting it apart from single-frequency or single-technology transducers.
Integration and Performance
Equipped with a fast-response integrated temperature sensor and a 9.1 m (30 ft) cable, the GT21-TM is designed for through-hull installation, supporting hull angles from 0° to 70°. Unlike transom-mounted (thru-hull) or in-hull transducers such as some Garmin GT-TH or LVS-TH models, it offers simplified installation while remaining compatible with most hull materials. It delivers optimal results at speeds below 34 mph and must be installed away from propeller turbulence to maintain consistent signal quality.
