Detailed description
Detailed description
Designed for demanding sailors and anglers, the Garmin GT34UHD-THP is a pair of transom-mount ultra high-definition sonar transducers providing ClearVü and SideVü images with detailed clarity. Positioned as a cutting-edge solution for underwater detection, this model stands out from traditional transducers through its UHD technology, which optimizes the resolution of structures and fish, particularly when compared to Garmin’s standard ClearVü and SideVü versions.
Advanced Detection Capabilities
The Garmin GT34UHD-THP integrates three transducer arrays, including a downward-facing element, for enhanced power focus on targets. In Ultra High-Definition ClearVü mode, it operates at 0.8 MHz (800 kHz) with a CHIRP range of 760–880 kHz, reaching a maximum depth of 200 feet. The beam is 0.74° x 46°. For SideVü, the transducer uses a frequency of 1.2 MHz (1,200 kHz) with a CHIRP range of 1,060–1,170 kHz, offering a lateral range of 125 feet on each side (250 feet total) down to a depth of 30 feet, with a beam of 0.44° x 55°. This combination enables rapid and precise exploration of fishing zones.
Integration and Installation
This 500-watt transducer pair features a 12-pin connector and provides depth and temperature data. It is compatible with Garmin chartplotters via the GCV™ 20 sonar module. Designed for transom mounting, it supports hull deadrise angles from 0 to 25 degrees. The paired configuration is particularly suited to hulls with a deadrise angle greater than 5 degrees, where a single transducer’s SideVü signal could be obstructed by the keel. This ensures optimal coverage, even on more complex hulls, differentiating it from single-element transducers like the GT34UHD-TM for transom mounting.
