Designed for Garmin’s GPSMAP® 86 series, the powered mount (GPSMAP® 86) provides continuous power and integration for your handheld device aboard. It ensures secure and practical use, turning your portable GPS into a fixed element of your navigation system.
Design and installation
This mount is designed for one-handed use and quick removal of compatible GPSMAP® 86 devices. Its mounting pattern uses the standardized AMPS template, simplifying integration into various marine setups. Installation includes a 1-inch ball joint for multi-angle adjustment, requiring minor drilling. A reinforced retention clip ensures a secure fit, preventing accidental loss overboard.
Power and connectivity
The mount includes an integrated USB connection cable and a 12 V flying lead power cable. It supports an input voltage range of 10 V to 30 V DC, ensuring constant power to the device. This eliminates the need to change batteries or recharge via USB during navigation, guaranteeing continuous availability of your GPSMAP® 86.
Extended features with GPSMAP® 86 devices
Compatible with GPSMAP® 86i, GPSMAP® 86s, GPSMAP® 86sc, and GPSMAP® 86sci models, this mount maximizes the capabilities of these handheld devices. It enables connection to Garmin chartplotters and instruments for real-time marine data sharing, including depth, heading, and sea temperature. Devices can also function as remote controls for Garmin autopilots or certain FUSION® marine stereo systems. These features complement the inherent characteristics of the GPSMAP® 86, such as its 3-inch sunlight-readable color display and waterproof, floating design.
