Detailed description
Designed for apparent wind measurement on professional vessels and workboats, the LCJ CAPTEURS CV3F-AL-24V ultrasonic wind transducer / vane anemometer provides accurate and reliable wind data. Its design with no moving parts ensures increased durability and consistent calibration in demanding marine conditions, eliminating mechanical wear.
Ultrasonic Technology and Performance
The CV3F-AL-24V uses four electro-acoustic transducers to measure wind speed and direction by analyzing the differences in ultrasound transit times. This technical approach ensures apparent wind measurements from 0.6 to 99 knots with a resolution of 0.1 knot, and an angle from 0 to 359° with a resolution of 1° and a sensitivity of +/-2.5°. It also measures air temperature from -10°C (no icing) to +50°C with an accuracy of +/-0.5°C.
Integration and Reliability
Powered by 24V DC (range 11 to 30V DC) and consuming 50 mA, this sensor is specifically suited to the electrical systems of professional vessels. It transmits data via NMEA 0183 at a baud rate of 4800, with sentences IIMWV, WIXDR, PLCJ, and PLCJE. The sensor comes with a 31 cm vertical arm and a 25-meter RG58 coaxial cable. Each unit undergoes rigorous testing in wind tunnels for accuracy and in climate chambers from -15°C to +55°C for robustness. It is manufactured in the Nantes region, France.
