Designed for workboats and commercial vessels, the LCJ CAPTEURS CV3F-BARO is an ultrasonic wind transducer / vane anemometer with barometer providing accurate and reliable weather data. This sensor measures wind speed and direction, air temperature, and atmospheric pressure without any moving parts, ensuring consistent performance and high durability in demanding marine conditions.

Accurate and reliable measurements

The CV3F-BARO uses ultrasonic technology to determine apparent wind speed and direction, with a measurement range of 0.5 to 99 knots and a resolution of 0.1 knot. Wind angle is measured from 0 to 359° with a resolution of 1° and a sensitivity of +/- 1.5°. The sensor also integrates air temperature measurement over a range of -10°C to +50°C (frost-free) with a sensitivity of +/- 0.5°C. Barometric pressure is provided with a resolution of 0.001 bar over a range of 0.900 to 1.100 bar. These data are updated once per second.

Integration and compatibility

This sensor operates on a 12V DC power supply (range 9 to 16 V DC, 24 or 25mA) and transmits its data via NMEA0183® sentences at 4800 baud. Output sentences include IIMWV for wind, WIMDA for atmospheric pressure, and WIXDR for temperature. Its NMEA0183® connectivity ensures broad compatibility with various navigation software and displays, including FURUNO systems (RD30, RD33, NavNet, TZT), GARMIN, and software such as Adrena, MaxSea, TimeZéro, OpenCPN, ScanNav, and SeaPro. The sensor comes with a 25-meter RG58 coaxial cable that connects to a 68 x 58 x 22 mm junction box, where connections are made via screw terminals. Integrated temperature compensation refines wind data calibration.

Design and installation

The LCJ CAPTEURS CV3F-BARO is designed and manufactured in France, in the Nantes region. It comes with a 31 cm vertical arm and two stainless steel mounting clamps, facilitating installation on the mast. Weighing approximately 0.27 kg, it complies with the European CE standard.
