Detailed description
Detailed description
Designed for sailing, the LCJ CAPTEURS CV7-SIL is an ultrasonic wind sensor with no moving parts. This ultrasonic technology ensures accurate and reliable measurement of wind speed and direction while minimizing maintenance requirements. It is specifically developed to provide a direct replacement for existing Nexus NX2, SILVA, and Furuno FI30 wind vane anemometers, enabling an upgrade without modifying the entire navigation system.
Technology and Performance
The LCJ CAPTEURS CV7-SIL sensor uses four transducers for contactless wind measurements. It operates within a wind dynamic range of 0.25 to 80 knots (0.15 to 40 m/s) with a sensitivity of 0.25 knots. Wind direction accuracy is ±1 degree, and data refresh occurs at 2 Hz. The device also integrates air temperature measurement over a range of -15°C to +55°C, used for calibration corrections.
Integration and Installation
Powered by 9 to 33 V DC, the CV7-SIL is compatible with 12 V and 24 V systems. Its NMEA0183® connectivity allows transmission of MWV, XDR, PLCJ, and PLCJE sentences at 4800 baud, ensuring easy integration with most NMEA0183 devices. The sensor is protected against marine elements with IP67 certification. Lightweight, with a head weight of 100 g and a total weight of 200 g including its arm and mounting bracket, it is optimized for masthead installation. The 30 cm long, 12 mm diameter oblique support facilitates positioning. Parameters such as angle correction, smoothing constants, and measurement units can be configured to suit user preferences.
