Detailed description
The STBG interface pack with LCJ Capteurs ultrasonic wind sensor (model CV7) is a wind measurement solution designed for marine navigation. This system uses ultrasonic technology to provide accurate wind data without moving parts, improving reliability and reducing maintenance requirements.
Ultrasonic Technology and Precision
The CV7 sensor measures wind speed from 0.25 to 80 knots and wind angle from 0 to 359°, with a sensitivity of ±1° for direction and a resolution of 0.1 knot for speed. It also integrates air temperature measurement from -15°C to +55°C. Data is refreshed at a rate of 2 times per second and transmitted via NMEA0183 sentences (IIMWV, WIXDR, PLCJ, PLCJE) at a baud rate of 4800 Bd. The required power supply is 9 to 33 Vdc, with power consumption of 10 mA.
STBG Interface and Extended Compatibility
The included STBG interface converts the ultrasonic sensor’s NMEA0183 data into universal analog signals. This feature ensures compatibility with a variety of existing navigation instruments, including Raymarine®, B&G® (all generations), Furuno FI30/FI50, Nexus NX2, SILVA, and Autohelm systems. The pack includes a 25-meter cable (4 x 0.22mm²) and a 310 mm diameter, 12 mm thick oblique aluminum mounting bracket. The sensor head weighs 100g, and the assembly with bracket and mounting clamp weighs 200g. The product complies with the European CE standard.
