Detailed description
Detailed description
The Lowrance EAGLE 9 50/200 HDI fishfinder is a dedicated fishfinder/chartplotter from the Eagle series. It features a 9-inch color display with a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels, providing clear and detailed underwater imaging. Viewing angles of 85° (up/down/left/right) ensure optimal readability from various positions on board.
Sonar Performance and Connectivity
This model includes a single sonar port compatible with SplitShot™ and TripleShot transducers, enabling Hybrid Dual Imaging (HDI) technology. This provides both traditional CHIRP sonar (50/200 kHz) and high-resolution DownScan/SideScan imaging (455 kHz, 800 kHz), essential for accurately identifying structures and fish schools. The Lowrance EAGLE 9 50/200 HDI also features a microSD® card reader supporting up to 32 GB, facilitating the integration of charts and storage of navigation and sonar data. It allows recording sonar logs (e.g., Sonar0002.sl2 files up to 3.1 MB) and managing MOB (man overboard) waypoints via a simple key combination.
Robust Design and Advanced Features
Built for marine environments, the Lowrance EAGLE 9 50/200 HDI has an IPX7 waterproof rating and an extended operating temperature range from -15°C to 55°C. It operates on 12 V DC power (10.8 - 18 V DC) with a maximum consumption of 7.68 W (640 mA at 12 V DC), requiring a 3 A fuse. Features include shallow-water display (0-3 m) and depth range highlighting (6-12 m). Compared to the Eagle 7, the Eagle 9 offers superior screen resolution. Unlike the Eagle Eye™ 9, which uses a proprietary transducer connection, the Eagle 9 maintains broad compatibility with SplitShot™ and TripleShot transducers, positioning this model as a versatile and high-performance solution for recreational fishing. It offers an excellent balance between price and advanced features compared to higher-end models like Lowrance HDS Live or Elite FS, or competitors such as Garmin Echomap or Raymarine Element.
