Designed for demanding marine applications, the Marinco M5100C9R connector is a 100-amp, 120/208-volt Y-configuration three-phase power solution.
Electrical ratings and performance
This reverse-service female connector, of pin-and-sleeve type, features a 4-pole, 5-wire configuration. It has a dielectric withstand voltage exceeding 3,000 V and is designed for current interruption.
Rugged construction and sealing
The housing is made from a yellow nylon/ABS blend, and the contact carrier is nylon. Contacts are solid brass with nickel plating. The connector is rated IP67 per IEC 60529, providing watertight protection when mated to a corresponding receptacle. Locking rings include sealing gaskets. The housing is constructed from super-rugged nylon, resistant to corrosion and marine environments.
Connectivity and installation
It incorporates stud-type terminals with double nickel-plated brass screws and internal frame terminals for high clamping force. It accepts 1/0 to 3 AWG cables and outer diameters from 0.98 to 1.97 inches. The design includes ample wiring space and open terminals to simplify assembly. A cable gland insert accommodates various cord sizes.
Safety and certifications
This connector is cULus-listed (Underwriters Laboratories, Inc.) for the United States and Canada, file E106703. Its flammability rating is 'HB or better' per UL 94 or CSA C22.2 No. 0.17, ensuring safe use. Maximum continuous operating temperature is 75°C.
