Detailed description
Detailed description
The DC Distribution 500 from Mastervolt is the most compact continuous distribution model in the range, designed to safely connect up to four DC devices such as battery chargers, inverters, alternators, or solar panels. Unlike a simple classic fuse holder, this smart distributor integrates seamlessly into the onboard digital ecosystem thanks to its MasterBus compatibility. It centralizes power connections while providing continuous and precise monitoring of fuse status.
Electrical characteristics and capacities
Designed for battery banks operating at 12, 24, or 48 V DC, the DC Distribution 500 supports a continuous current of 300 A, with a peak capacity reaching 500 A for 5 minutes. The system efficiently manages two groups (input and output) where the sum of the currents must not exceed 500 A per group. The device comes standard with four ANL-type fuses (two 80 A, one 125 A, and one 160 A) plus an additional spare 125 A fuse. The maximum allowed size for an individual fuse is 300 A. The unit is protected by a robust housing ensuring optimal isolation of DC connections, with an IP21 protection rating suitable for indoor installations.
MasterBus integration and smart monitoring
The main advantage of this distributor lies in its native MasterBus connectivity (plug & play cable included). Connected to a MasterView display or MasterAdjust software, the DC Distribution 500 offers advanced remote monitoring. The system allows assigning logical names to each fuse based on the connected equipment, ensuring clear error notifications in case of a fault (e.g., "battery charger fuse fault"). Additionally, it supports event-based programming: if a fuse blows, the MasterBus network can trigger a specific safety action on another connected device. Two integrated LED indicators provide instant feedback on data traffic and alarm conditions.
