Detailed description
Detailed description
The Mastervolt Mass 24/50 3PH charger (reference 40030506) is designed for applications requiring a robust and reliable three-phase power supply. This battery charger delivers a nominal voltage of 24 VDC with a total charging current of 50 A. It is compatible with a three-phase input voltage range of 3 x 365 to 550 V AC, at a frequency of 50–60 Hz.
Design and performance
The Mass 24/50 3PH charger features a lightweight stainless steel and anodized aluminum housing, suitable for demanding environments. Internal components are coated for protection against moisture and condensation, contributing to extended service life. It maintains full output power up to an ambient temperature of 40 °C, with power derating beyond this value to manage internal temperature. Its operating temperature range is 0 to 60 °C and humidity from 0 to 95 % without condensation. The power factor (cos phi) is 0.8, ensuring efficient use of input current.
Advanced features and compatibility
This charger uses an automatic 3-step+ IUoUo charging characteristic, suitable for Gel, AGM, flooded, and Lithium-Ion batteries. It can charge fully discharged batteries. The Mass 24/50 3PH charger provides stable, ripple-free power delivery, even with no batteries connected. A current monitoring function is integrated to prevent fuse tripping in case of voltage drop. It supports parallel connection of multiple chargers to increase charging capacity. GMDSS (Global Maritime Distress and Safety System) compatibility is ensured, and it integrates with the MasterBus network for centralized control and monitoring. The mean time between failures (MTBF) is 180,000 hours at full load, attesting to its reliability for continuous operation.
