Detailed description
Detailed description
The MasterBus Repeater Mastervolt (reference 77031100) is a critical component designed to optimize and extend the range of MasterBus communication networks, a proprietary protocol from Mastervolt dedicated to intelligent energy management aboard vessels. This device doubles the maximum length of your MasterBus network, ensuring the integrity and reliability of data transmission in extended installations where direct wiring solutions reach their performance limits.
Advanced Technical Features
The MasterBus Repeater integrates two primary functions: data refresh and network power supply. For data refresh, it offers three operational modes: "Off" mode, which splits the MasterBus into two separate networks without data transfer, "On" mode, which refreshes all data passing through the repeater, and "Smart" mode, which refreshes data only if the receiver is located on the other side of the repeater, thereby minimizing unnecessary traffic. This capability is crucial for complex installations, preventing signal degradation over long distances. The repeater is recommended for cable lengths exceeding 250 m with fewer than 10 devices, 150 m with fewer than 25 devices, or 100 m with fewer than 50 connected devices. It is powered via the MasterBus or an external 8–35 V DC source.
Power Management and System Integration
In addition to data refresh, the MasterBus Repeater contributes to powering the MasterBus network. It offers a choice between "Low" power mode (12 V, 8 V at full load) and "High" power mode (16 V, 8 V at full load). Both modes deliver the same power output, but the "Low" mode prioritizes "High powering" devices in case of need, which is particularly beneficial for small, unmonitored battery banks. These features are configurable via a MasterView display or the MasterAdjust software. With compact dimensions of 66 x 78 x 32 mm and a weight of just 0.09 kg, it integrates discreetly and can be mounted on a 30 mm DIN rail. Its IP21 protection rating makes it suitable for protected environments. Unlike NMEA 2000 repeaters that extend a generic data bus, the MasterBus Repeater is specifically optimized for the Mastervolt protocol, ensuring maximum compatibility and performance within the brand’s energy management systems, such as those integrating Mastervolt chargers, inverters, and lithium batteries.
