Detailed description
Detailed description
The NAVICO DST-810 Depth/Speed/Temp Sensor (Bronze) is a multifunction sensor designed for marine navigation, providing accurate data on depth, speed through water, water temperature, and boat attitude (heel and trim). Its bronze housing ensures durable installation and reliable integration in various hull configurations, supporting a keel angle of up to 22°.
Measurement and Technical Performance
This sensor features a 235 kHz depth frequency, optimized for shallow-water performance with a range from 0.5 m (1.6') to 100 m (330'). Speed is measured from 0.3 knots to 45 knots, with a refresh rate of 5.7 Hz (five times per second) for smooth and responsive readings. Attitude accuracy is ±1° nominal after calibration, while the temperature sensor offers ±0.5°C accuracy over a range of -10°C to 40°C. The transducer weighs 1.6 kg and its acoustic window is made of urethane, with a nominal pressure rating of 3 m.
Connectivity and Advanced Features
The DST-810 features NMEA 2000® connectivity for easy integration into onboard networks (power supply voltage from 9 VDC to 16 VDC, current <200 mA), and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) for wireless calibration via the free Airmar CAST™ app. This app enables advanced heel-compensated speed calibrations across multiple angles and speed ranges, a feature previously limited to expensive PC software. The sensor is equipped with a new Gen2 paddle wheel for improved speed performance and includes an attitude sensor for heel and trim data essential to precise calibration. All NMEA calibrations and configurations are stored directly in the sensor. The wide 10x44-degree beam and fan shape allow the transducer to efficiently find the bottom even on deep-V hulls or heeling sailboats. The 235 kHz frequency also helps prevent mutual interference with other echo sounders onboard.
