Detailed description
Detailed description
The Navico 6-meter NMEA 2000 cable is a fundamental component for designing or extending your boat’s network architecture. Acting as the main line (backbone), it enables bidirectional data transmission and power supply between various sensors, multifunction displays, and autopilots compliant with the NMEA 2000 standard.
Network architecture and reliability
Unlike drop cables—typically shorter and used to connect a single device to the network—this 6-meter cable is designed to form the central artery of the installation. Its length is particularly suited for mid-sized units, allowing, for example, connection between the helm console and the engine compartment or mast foot. Manufactured by Navico, it ensures optimal conductivity and fully sealed connections, guaranteeing packet-loss-free communication within B&G, Simrad, and Lowrance ecosystems.
Positioning and integration
This cable integrates into any NMEA 2000-certified installation (Micro-C). While shorter lengths are available for local connections and longer ones for large vessels, this 6-meter version offers an excellent compromise for the main backbone. To complete the network, it must be paired with T-connectors, 120-ohm terminators, and a dedicated power cable, available in Navico starter kits.
