Detailed description
Detailed description
Designed for Lowrance Cruise and Hook2 fishfinders, the Navico Skimmer 83/200 depth sounder is a transom-mounted transducer that delivers precise detection capabilities for coastal and inland fishing.
Sonar Features and Performance
This transducer operates on CHIRP mid/high frequencies (83/200 kHz), enabling depth detection up to 304 meters (1000 feet) at 200 kHz. It provides depth and water temperature data. The 38° beam at 83 kHz and 17° beam at 200 kHz ensures coverage suited to different fishing conditions. The Navico Skimmer 83/200 is designed to maintain reliable performance even at high speeds, supporting up to 60 knots (70 mph) when installed on the transom.
Installation and Compatibility
The transducer offers mounting options for transom, bow-motor, or through-hull (for non-wood hulls). For optimal transom installation, it should be positioned in an undisturbed water flow, avoiding areas behind spray strakes or flaps that could create turbulence. The integrated cable is 6 meters (19.5 feet) long and connects via an 8-pin push-fit connector. For mounting, Ø 3.7–4.0 mm guide holes are recommended for soft materials (plywood), and Ø 4.1–4.7 mm for rigid materials (fiberglass, acrylic, hardwood). A quality marine sealant/adhesive must be applied to mounting holes. Its weight is 0.11 kg (without cable). This transducer is specifically compatible with Lowrance Cruise and Hook2 series devices.
Environmental Conditions
The transducer is designed to operate in a temperature range of 0°C to +50°C (32°F to +122°F) and can be stored at temperatures from -30°C to +70°C (-22°F to +158°F).
