The Navico TotalScan M/H 455/800 through-hull depth sounder is a subsea imaging solution designed to deliver comprehensive capabilities from a single unit. It integrates multiple sonar technologies for detailed fish and structure detection, suitable for anglers and navigators.
Integrated Sonar Technologies
This sounder combines Broadband sonar, CHIRP sonar (Medium and High frequencies), StructureScan HD, and DownScan Imaging™. This versatility provides different views of the underwater environment. StructureScan uses 455/800 kHz frequencies, while Broadband sonar operates at 83/200 kHz.
Performance and Range
The TotalScan M/H 455/800 sounder delivers a maximum transmission power of 500W RMS (4000W peak). Maximum depths vary by technology and frequency:
- CHIRP Sonar (High/Medium): Up to 305 meters (1000 feet)
- DownScan: Up to 90 meters (300 feet)
- StructureScan at 455 kHz: Total range of 182 meters (600 feet), or 92 meters (300 feet) per side
- StructureScan at 800 kHz: Total range of 60 meters (200 feet), or 30 meters (100 feet) per side
Target separation is 1.5 inches (38.1 mm). Maximum bottom tracking speed is 88 km/h (55 mph), with an optimal speed of 16 km/h (10 mph) or less for optimal image rendering.
Installation and Connectivity
Designed for through-hull installation, this sounder includes a fairing block to accommodate keel angles from 0° to 5°. It features a water temperature sensor. The sounder cable measures 7 meters (24 feet) and terminates in a 9-pin blue sonar connector. Power requirements are 12V DC, with an input voltage of 10 to 17V DC and a maximum consumption of 0.75A. Communication is via Ethernet. The unit complies with CE, FCC, C-Tick, RoHS standards and has an IPx7 water integrity rating.
Compatibility
The sounder is compatible with a range of Navico multifunction displays, including the Lowrance HDS, Elite Ti, HOOK REVEAL, ELITE FS, HDS PRO series, as well as Simrad GO, NSS, NSX, VULCAN, ZEUS S, and ZEUS 3 (S) displays.
