Detailed description
Detailed description
The through-hull transducer XSONIC Airmar B175H-W (20°) is a high-frequency, wide-beam CHIRP transducer designed for fish detection and seabed analysis. With a power output of 1 kW, it operates on a CHIRP frequency band of 150 to 250 kHz, providing target resolution and seabed separation in shallow waters up to 152 meters (500 feet).
CHIRP Wide-Beam Technology and Tilted Element
This transducer features CHIRP High-Wide technology, delivering a constant 25° beamwidth across its frequency range. This wide beam provides twice the underwater coverage compared to narrow-beam transducers, improving fish detection in the water column and producing sharper images. Its ceramic element is tilted at 20° inside the bronze housing, compensating for hull deadrise angles of 16° to 24°, ensuring the sonar beam is directed vertically for maximum echo return without the need for a wedge.
Installation and Compatibility
The XSONIC Airmar B175H-W (20°) is recommended for fiberglass or wooden hulls. Its low-profile through-hull installation requires a 95 mm (3.74 in) hole and must be performed in a cool, well-ventilated area to prevent overheating, a common issue with CHIRP transducers. The transducer provides rapid-response depth and water temperature data. It includes an 1.8-meter (5.9 ft) cable with a 9-pin connector and features Airmar’s Xducer ID® technology for automatic configuration and continuous monitoring of operating temperature. Suitable for boats up to 11 meters (36 ft), it weighs approximately 5.17 kg (shipping weight) or 2.7 kg (product weight).
