Detailed description
Detailed description
Designed for demanding marine environments, the through-hull XSONIC Airmar B175L (12°) is a 1 kW low-frequency CHIRP transducer ideal for depth detection and water temperature measurement. This model is specifically suited for fiberglass or wood hulls on vessels up to 11 meters (36 feet) in length.
Low-frequency CHIRP technology and tilted element
The XSONIC Airmar B175L (12°) uses low-frequency CHIRP technology, operating in the 40 to 60 kHz range with a 20 kHz bandwidth. This capability enables deep water penetration and improved target separation, with a maximum depth of 762 meters (2,500 feet) under optimal conditions. The beam width ranges from 32° to 21°. Its ceramic element is internally tilted by 12°, compensating for hull deadrise angles of 8° to 15° and ensuring the sonar beam is directed straight to the seabed, maximizing echo returns and reading accuracy.
Installation and compatibility
This low-profile transducer is installed through the hull, requiring a 95 mm (3-3/4 inch) mounting hole for fiberglass or wood hulls. The Tilted Element™ design eliminates the need for a fairing block, reducing drag and simplifying installation. The bronze housing is recommended for fiberglass or wood hulls; installation in an aluminum hull should be avoided to prevent electrolytic corrosion. This model comes with a 9-pin connector and a 10-meter (33-foot) cable. The B175L also features Navico’s patented Xducer ID® technology for optimal identification and operation within your marine electronics system.
