Detailed description
Detailed description
The XSONIC Airmar B175L (0°) is a 1 kW through-hull CHIRP transducer designed for boats up to 11 meters (36 feet), offering precise deep-water detection performance and rapid water temperature measurement. This model is compatible with Navico’s CHIRP sonar systems, ensuring improved target resolution and separation.
Tilted Element™ technology for optimized installation
Equipped with Tilted Element™ technology, this transducer features a 0°-tilted ceramic element designed to compensate for hull deadrise angles from 0° to 7°. This design ensures the sonar beam is directed vertically toward the bottom without requiring a fairing block. The transducer’s low-profile design, protruding only 6 mm (less than a quarter-inch) below the hull, reduces drag and is suitable for trailable or lifted boats while maintaining high-resolution display performance at high cruising speeds.
CHIRP sonar performance and advanced features
The B175L operates on an extended low-frequency band from 40 to 60 kHz, with a variable beam width of 32° to 21°. This configuration allows it to reach a maximum depth of 762 meters (2,500 feet), or up to 3,000 feet according to some documentation, making it ideal for deep-water detection. In addition to depth, this transducer provides fast and accurate water temperature measurements.
Compatibility and system integration
The bronze housing is specifically recommended for fiberglass or wooden hulls. Installation requires drilling a 95 mm (3-3/4 inch) hole for these hull types. The transducer weighs 2.7 kg (6 lbs) and features a urethane acoustic window. The integrated Xducer ID® technology is an exclusive feature that simplifies installation and configuration by allowing the fishfinder to automatically adapt to the transducer, optimizing the system and providing continuous monitoring of ceramic operating temperature. The XSONIC Airmar B175L (0°) comes with a 9-pin XSONIC connector and a 10-meter (33-foot) cable.
