Detailed description
Detailed description
Designed for cruising and fishing, the XSONIC Airmar B175M (0°) through-hull transducer from NAVICO is a 1 kW CHIRP depth and water temperature sounder. This model features a fixed 0° tilted element to match hull deadrise angles from 0° to 7°, reducing the need for a fairing block, though a fairing block can still benefit high-speed boats by reducing turbulence and improving performance at speed. Its bronze housing is specifically recommended for fiberglass or wooden hulls.
Advanced CHIRP performance
The Airmar B175M transducer uses mid-band CHIRP technology, operating across a frequency range of 85 kHz to 135 kHz, with a total bandwidth of 50 kHz. This delivers optimized resolution and target separation, allowing clear distinction between fish schools, game fish, and underwater structures. With 1 kW of power, it achieves a maximum depth of 457 meters (1,500 feet) in ideal conditions, along with fast water temperature measurement. The 16° to 11° beam ensures effective coverage beneath the boat.
Tilted Element™ design and installation
The Tilted Element™ design of the XSONIC Airmar B175M ensures the sonar beam is directed vertically toward the seabed, maximizing echo returns. Its low-profile design, which protrudes only 6 mm below the hull, reduces drag and eases trailer transport. Installation requires a 95 mm (3-3/4 inch) hole in the hull. The integrated Xducer ID® technology enables automatic recognition and optimized configuration with compatible sounders, simplifying system setup. This transducer comes with a 9-pin XSONIC connector and a 1.8-meter (6-foot) cable, suitable for boatbuilder installations.
