Detailed description
Detailed description
Designed for cruising and fishing, the Navico XSONIC Airmar B60 (20°) through-hull transducer is a 600 W depth sounder with fast-response depth and water temperature sensing. It features Airmar’s Tilted Element™ technology, ensuring optimal beam orientation for improved accuracy.
Acoustic performance and coverage
This dual-frequency transducer operates at 50 kHz with a 45° wide beam and at 200 kHz with a 12° narrow beam. The 50 kHz frequency reaches a maximum depth of 366 m (1200 ft), while the 200 kHz frequency provides precise target detail down to 213 m (700 ft). The transducer has a bronze housing and is compatible with fiberglass or wood hulls. Its ceramic element is tilted at 20° to compensate for hull deadrise angles of 16° to 24°, ensuring the sonar beam is directed vertically toward the seafloor.
Design and installation
The XSONIC Airmar B60 (20°) features a low-profile through-hull design, with the bronze housing protruding only 5 mm (3/16") from the hull. This minimizes drag and does not affect the boat’s sailing performance. Installation requires a 60 mm (2-3/8") hole, and the shaft length is 68.5 mm (2.70"). The transducer weighs 1.4 kg (3 lbs) and has a urethane acoustic window. It comes with a 10 m (33 ft) cable and a 9-pin black connector, compatible with Navico systems (Simrad, Lowrance).
Applications
Ideal for center-console boats or portable craft, this transducer suits vessels up to 8 m (26 ft) LOA. It is commonly used for recreational boating, fishing, and cruising, providing reliable depth and temperature data for better underwater awareness.
