Detailed description
The XSONIC Airmar SS60 (20°) is a 600 W through-hull transducer made of stainless steel, designed to provide accurate depth and water temperature readings. This model features Tilted Element™ technology with a 20° tilt angle, compensating for the hull’s keel angle on vessels with a 16° to 24° inclination. Its low-profile housing minimizes drag, protruding only 5 mm from the hull.
Dual-Frequency Sonar Performance
Operating on two frequencies, the SS60 (20°) delivers data suited to various sailing and fishing conditions. The 50 kHz frequency provides a wide 45° beam for depth detection up to 366 meters. For shallower waters or improved target definition, the 200 kHz frequency uses a 12° beam with a range up to 213 meters. This transducer also detects water temperature with a rapid response.
Design and Installation
The SS60 (20°) stainless steel housing is compatible with all hull materials. Installation requires a 60 mm (2-3/8 inches) hole for fiberglass or wooden hulls, and a 70 mm (2-13/16 inches) hole for metal hulls. A 10-meter cable with a 9-pin black connector ensures direct connection to compatible Navico systems, such as the NSSevo3 and Lowrance HDS G3 series. It is suitable for vessels up to 8 meters in length.
