Detailed description
Detailed description
Designed for fishing and recreational boating, the XSONIC Airmar TM165HW depth sounder is a CHIRP transducer for transom mounting. It provides extended underwater coverage and detailed sonar images, particularly effective in shallow waters thanks to its wide beam width. This model includes fast-response depth and water temperature detection functions.
High-Frequency CHIRP Sonar Performance
The XSONIC Airmar TM165HW operates across a high-frequency range from 150 kHz to 250 kHz, delivering a total bandwidth of 100 kHz. This capability ensures optimal performance in shallow waters, with precise bottom detail and improved target separation. Its nominal power is 600 W, and its maximum detection depth reaches 106 meters (350 feet).
Expanded Coverage and Detailed Imaging
Featuring an average super-wide beam width of 30°, this transducer delivers up to three times the coverage under the boat compared to standard high-frequency CHIRP transducers. This expanded coverage maximizes the detection area and helps spot fish in the upper water column, often missed by narrower beams. Returns are sharp, and the displayed image is larger, thanks to Airmar’s wide beam format.
Robust Design and Versatile Installation
The XSONIC Airmar TM165HW transducer is designed for transom mounting and is suitable for planing hulls in fiberglass or metal. Its housing is made of chemically resistant and impact-resistant plastic, ensuring durability in marine environments. A plastic transom-mount bracket is included, with a release system to protect the sensor from front impacts. It performs effectively at speeds up to 50 mph (44 knots) and accommodates transom angles from 2° to 22°. The cable is 9 meters long and terminates in a 9-pin connector. Airmar’s Xducer ID® technology is also integrated.
